Bizarre 195, December 2012
On sale 23 October
The big news this month is our world exclusive interview with the creator of the monster in Ridley Scott’s Alien, Swiss surrealist HR Giger.
Blackthorn Communications has been planning this audience with the master of darkness for over three years, and we’re delighted that our gentle negotiations finally paid off.
It’s rare that HR Giger speaks to the press – and unprecedented that he’d allow a photographer into his home – so we’re incredibly proud of this old-fashioned journalistic scoop. And as Giger gave us so much great material, we’ve had to split his interview over two issues – so look out for the second instalment in Bizarre 196.
Also in Bizarre 195 we have a report on the Manchester International Tattoo Show, a peek behind-the-scenes at the zero-budget horror movies made by US studio The Asylum, and a retrospective feature on Redemption Films, whose sick flicks have been troubling censors since the early 1990s.
A news story on the UK debut of gory stage show Re-Animator: The Musical, a photo feature on body art inspired by science and mathematics, and an hilarious photograph of a flying machine made from a stuffed cat also make this a classic issue of Bizarre. Donât miss it!
