Bizarre 195, December 2012

On sale 23 October

The big news this month is our world exclusive interview with the creator of the monster in Ridley Scott’€™s Alien, Swiss surrealist HR Giger.

Blackthorn Communications has been planning this audience with the master of darkness for over three years, and we’€™re delighted that our gentle negotiations finally paid off.

It’€™s rare that HR Giger speaks to the press –€“ and unprecedented that he’d allow a photographer into his home –€“ so we’€™re incredibly proud of this old-fashioned journalistic scoop. And as Giger gave us so much great material, we’€™ve had to split his interview over two issues – so look out for the second instalment in Bizarre 196.

Also in Bizarre 195 we have a report on the Manchester International Tattoo Show, a peek behind-the-scenes at the zero-budget horror movies made by US studio The Asylum, and a retrospective feature on Redemption Films, whose sick flicks have been troubling censors since the early 1990s.

A news story on the UK debut of gory stage show Re-Animator: The Musical, a photo feature on body art inspired by science and mathematics, and an hilarious photograph of a flying machine made from a stuffed cat also make this a classic issue of Bizarre. Don’t miss it!
