Bizarre 214, May 2014
On sale 15 April
For over 15 years, Bizarre has championed alternative culture and devoted editorial space to bands, models, artists and performers who push boundaries and spark debate. And now we’re delighted to see that the scene Bizarre helped to shape is big enough to support its own festival.
Our biggest feature slot this issue is devoted to the upcoming Alt-Fest; a ground-breaking weekend of music and art that includes special appearances from acts such as Marilyn Manson, The Cult, Gary Numan and Cradle Of Filth.
Our five-page Alt-Fest preview – written by the magazine’s music editor, Stephen Daultrey – is a delicious taster for the festival’s dark thrills, and we’re honoured that the organisers chose Bizarre as the perfect place to promote this innovative shindig.
Also in Bizarre 214 we catch-up with Buck Angel – the female-to-male actor and performer who’s fighting for the rights of transgender people – examine the freaky films of maverick Spanish director Jess Franco, and catch up with one of the magazine’s most beloved cover stars, Masuimi Max.
